This wine perfectly reflects the authenticity of Capaccia. The combination of high elevation, southern exposure and soil content allow for the Sangiovese grapes to ripen perfectly in any growing season. The 2016 season was cooler and wetter than most, but with the ample sun exposure and ideal soil drainage of Capaccia’s vineyards, the grapes ripened evenly and created a beautiful wine. This wine aged for a year in large wine casks to ensure that our delicate fruit notes were not overpowered by the oak tannins. Our goal was to create a wine that reflects our terroir and has the structure to be cellared long after its release. This Chianti Classico has already received 3 stars from the Vini Buoni d’Italia review and 90 points from Luca Maroni.
